Ryback, Tzvi
Son of Aryeh. He was born in 1907. Upon his arrival in Israel he worked in various jobs and joined the Haganah. During the bloody riots of 1936-1939, he enlisted in the Guard Corps and was involved in various security functions. When an Arab gang cut off the power lines between the southern colonies, the workers of the Israel Electric Corporation set out to repair the line, accompanied by guards. On their way back to the streets, the armored guard mounted a powerful mine and turned over. Zvi was seriously injured and taken to Hadassah Hospital in Tel Aviv. He fought for his life for several weeks, but his injury was severe, and on the eve of Yom Kippur (September 23, 1939), he died of his wounds and was brought to rest in the Petach Tikva cemetery, accompanied by a guard of honor.
