Rotman, Yaakov
Yaakov, son of Sarah and Aharon Rotman, was born on March 25, 1927 in Constanza, Romania. In 1946 he immigrated to Israel on a ship called “Max Nordau”. Immediately upon his arrival, he joined the underground organization and was one of the most active in the organization. Yaakov lived in Zichron Yaakov. Shortly after the UN General Assembly decided to divide the country into two states, he joined the army and was assigned to a combat battalion in the Alexandroni Brigade, where he participated in a battle in Mishmar Ha’emek and fell on 27 Iyar, June 5, 1948. He was laid to rest in the Netanya military cemetery.
