Rotholz, Elad


Ben Lisa and Shlomo. He was born on 21.6.1970 in Kiryat Ono. He studied at the Nir Elementary School in the Kiryat Ono Middle School and completed his studies at the Ben-Zvi High School in Kiryat Ono. Elad was an amateur athlete. From the age of six he practiced swimming and became a water polo player and goalkeeper who played and participated in all the water ball competitions in Israel. Before his induction into the IDF he was trained in running and strength training to develop good fitness and to be absorbed in a combat unit.In late October 1988, Elad was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the paratroopers. After basic training, he took a parachuting course, a course for commanders and professional courses, and was trained as a combat soldier. According to his commander, he was a good soldier, disciplined and sympathetic to the soldiers of the battalion. On July 19, 1991, shortly before completing his regular service, Elad fell in the line of security on the northern border, and was brought to the eternal military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents and brother Roi. In his letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Elad served in the Paratroopers Brigade and in the battalion for three years, and was very professional and operational in his capacity as a combat soldier and parachutist. His parents commemorated his donation to a soccer team in Kiryat Ono, named after him.
