Rotfeld, Yoram (“Yorek”)
Son of Moshe and Leah. He was born on January 28, 1941 in Tel Aviv. After completing his elementary studies at the Bialik School in Netanya, he continued to study at the Naval Officers School in Acre and then continued at the Tchernichovsky High School in Netanya where he was a member of the Zevulun Association. He was a heavy machinery operator at Solel Boneh in Netanya, and was drafted into the IDF in August 1959 and served in the Armored Corps. After completing his regular service, he would occasionally go on reserve duty and at the outbreak of the Six-Day War he fell in battle near Bir al-Hamida in Sinai; It was on the third day of the fighting, on the 28th of Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967). He left a wife and two small children. He was buried in the emergency military cemetery in Bari and was put to rest at the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. An article about him was presented in a booklet issued by the Municipality of Netanya in memory of Bina who fell on their watch. His memory was raised in the book “Iron Fist in Sinai” issued by his division.
