Rotenberg, Zvi (“Tzviki”)


Son of Israel and Zahava. He was born on April 5, 1948 in Tel Aviv. Zvi was named after his grandfather, the father of his mother, who was murdered by the Nazis in Poland. He attended elementary school in Beit Dagan. He studied at the Amal vocational high school in Ramle for two years. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement and as a teenager was a construction worker. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1966. During the Six-Day War he took part in the conquest of Jerusalem and Latrun, and later on in the Karameh operation on April 8, 1968, In the Jordan Valley, while carrying out this task, his vehicle was on a mine and he was killed. Zvi was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
