Rotenberg, Boaz Israel
Son of Naomi and Mordechai. Was born on January 29, 1970 in the United States and immigrated to Israel with his family when he was eight months old. He attended the Evelyn de Rothschild Elementary School in Jerusalem. He completed his studies at the Nativ Meir high school in Jerusalem. Boaz was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1988 and volunteered for an elite unit in the Paratroopers Brigade on 28.5.1988, during an operational activity in the Jericho area, Boaz fell while fulfilling his duties and was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mt. Herzl, in Jerusalem, left behind his parents, Michal and Yael and brother Ami, in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family: “Your son Boaz was a personal example of his comrades as a soldier and a volunteer in the IDF and paratroopers in particular.” His parents donated to his memory enlarged prints of prayers for the welfare of the State and IDF soldiers in order to distribute them in synagogues in Israel and the Diaspora.
