Roswald, Hadassah (Hedda)
Daughter of Batya and Avraham Yehuda. She was born on May 5, 1920 in Lvov, Poland, where she was educated in a foreign spirit to Zionism and every Jewish tradition, until she moved to a Jewish environment. She entered the local branch of Hanoar Hazioni in the city, where she stood out for her activism, enthusiasm and lecturing. When she immigrated to Eretz Israel, she settled in Tel Aviv, where she placed herself at the disposal of the movement and was one of the first to lay the foundations for this movement in Israel. The first group that organized it was called “Geula” and then “Tziona” – a symbol of its aspirations and atmosphere. Then she organized other groups and accompanied her friends in their celebrations and in their grief. However, Hadassah did not settle for all of these, and on 17 Elul, she left with the first group to establish the Tel Yitzhak kibbutz on the banks of Wadi Falik (Nahal Poleg). There was the moving and encouraging spirit, but it was not long before death found its way. On the 11th of Cheshvan (5/11/1938), a bullet hit her from the ambush when she was bringing food to the guard near the tower. She was laid to rest in Tel Yitzhak.
