Rosner, Zvi (Heinrich)
Son of Leah and Ezra. Born on 10/19/1919 in Moshczyce, Poland, to a middle-class family, he was among the best students in the elementary school and was considered one of the best athletes in the city, and as a youth he joined the Betar youth movement. His dream was of immigrating to Israel, and in 1936 he realized his dream, and after many hardships he arrived in Israel and joined the Irgun. He made great efforts to bring his family to Israel, but did not succeed. During the Second World War he enlisted in the British Army and was assigned to the Transportation Corps. He participated in battles on the Libyan front and also in the ranks of the army. He did not stop his ties with the Irgun in Eretz Israel and among all his friends and acquaintances he was known to be willing to help others, his loyalty to his people and his homeland, his humility and cheerful character. Zvi fell in an air raid of the German “Luftwaffe” on 8 Nisan, March 26, 1942, on his way to Israel. He was buried in Cyrenaica. His name was immortalized in the book “Remembering Netzach.” An investigation conducted in 2017 revealed that his place of rest was in Hilaly, Egypt.
