Rosenzweig, Yitzhak Avraham


Son of Racheli and Zvi. He was born on the 28th of Adar 5734 (12.3.1964) in Safed. On his fourth birthday, the family moved to Ashkelon. Yitzhak attended the “Sinai” religious elementary school in the city and continued his studies at the Or Etzion High School in computers. Yitzhak was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement at the Afridar branch in Ashkelon and had interests, hobbies and a variety of occupations. He wrote poems and engaged in sports, especially mountaineering and water glowing. He traveled extensively in Israel, found great interest in machinery and planned to study mechanical engineering in the future. Was a Simcha and accepted man in society. In addition to this, he also had developed social awareness and volunteered to help others, especially patients in hospitals. He enlisted in regular service in July 1982 and was assigned to serve in the Air Force in the Vulcan Vaults Brigade, where he participated in the Peace-Galilee War, and in 1984 he went to the Field Security Officers Course and after completing his regular service in 1985, He was to be released within a short period of time, and for this purpose he wished to be released from the permanent army, and he fell during his duty on 21 January 1987. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Tamar and Amichai, who was promoted to the rank of captain after his death and dedicated a scholarship fund to needy students at the Or Etzion Yeshiva, the yeshiva he attended. Wanted to commemorate his memory even with holy objects in synagogues.
