Rosenzweig, Ofer (Loyo)
Ben Claudia and Vinko. Was born on July 4, 1962 in Romania, his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Ashdod, Ofer studied at Harel Elementary School and at the Makif G. High School, “Ofer” was a member of the “Scouts” movement and was a member of the “Scouts” movement, and was a member of the “Hapoel” Ashdod, for his outstanding stature in the basketball game and participated in competitions for the high school basketball and athletics championship. He was a candidate for the basketball team, but preferred the service to an IDF field unit. One of his hobbies was reading books about the history of the Jewish people, which influenced him. When he was about to join the Nahal Brigade, he joined the Nachshon Harish Brigade, which had a goal of Kibbutz Ma’anit in the Hadera area. In September 1981, Ofer enlisted in the IDF and served in the paratroop brigade. He went through basic training and a driver’s course. At the beginning of June 1982, Ofer was at home, when he was summoned to his unit. The Peace for Galilee War broke out. Ofer fought with his unit in Lebanon, and advanced towards the town of Rashadya. On the eighth day of the war, on June 18, 1982, his unit was preparing for a purification operation in the refugee camp in Rasadia. An enemy shell hit his department, and Ofer was wounded by mortal wounds. He was 19 years old when he died. He was laid to rest at the Ashdod military cemetery. Ofer left behind his parents and brother.
