Rosenzweig, Leon-Yehuda


Son of Asher and Chaya. He was born on October 21, 1959, in Paris, France. He immigrated to Israel in 1968. Leon attended an elementary school in Paris and when he immigrated to Israel, he continued his studies at the Bachar elementary school in Even Yehuda. Afterward he graduated from Hadasim High School in Tel Tzur. From his childhood, Leon excelled in a great deal of openness to his surroundings and attracted to the society of his elders. In every new place he found, he quickly made friends with the local people and was loved by everyone. Leon made his first visit to Israel when he was four years old. Five years later, his family decided to immigrate to Israel and was easily absorbed into the new company. After graduating, he helped his father with a work of clothing. Leon was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in October 1977. Despite his poor health, he sought to serve in positions that required great effort and physical ability. He was about to be sent to basic training, and during the time remaining until the start of basic training, he was sent by the IDF’s absorption and selection base to help and assist the various IDF bases. On January 18, 1978, Leon fell while serving in the center of the country. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, brother and sister.
