Rosenzweig, Ido

Ido ben Dov and Rina was born on the 30th of Nisan, April 20, 1958 in Rehovot. Ido was full of life and cheerfulness, was loved and accepted by his friends and was very attached to his family. Ido was drafted into the IDF at the end of January 1977 and was assigned to a pilot course. After nine months he completed a preparatory stage and was awarded the rank of corporal. In August 1978 he underwent a parachuting course and was given the wings of a parachutist. He was a good soldier, responsible and dedicated. His comrades and commanders loved him, he was a sociable, pleasant man and always ready to do for others. On the 18th of Tishrei 5739 (October 19, 1978) Ido fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Ido started his military course in an aviation course and continued with the Nahal Brigade. He served as a fighter in the battalion and was about to begin a course for squad commanders. He served as a model for his comrades in the company’s platoon … “
