Rosenzweig, Esther (Etti)

Esther, daughter of Bronia and Moshe Morris Rosenzweig, was born on November 20, 1929 in Tel Aviv. After graduating from the Tel-Nordoi elementary school in Tel Aviv, she moved to study at Beit Hakerem in Jerusalem. Esther was immeasurably devoted to her role as one of the brave defenders of Gush Etzion. She managed to rescue the abandoned Baran machine guns. When she realized that there was no way out for the besieged, she kept a bullet in her hand so as not to fall into enemy hands. Esther fell courageously and valiantly on the last day before the fall of Kfar Etzion, on May 13, 1948, and on the 25th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) she was brought to rest with the rest of the victims of the Gush to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
