Rosenthal, Jonah


Son of Deborah and Ephraim. Yona was born in Haifa on the 2nd of 1951, a fourth child in a family of five siblings, who attended elementary school in his hometown and then at the ORT Israel High School in the Department of Regrets, and was very attached to his parents and siblings. Who was friendly, loving, handsome and kindhearted, and he supported his friends when they needed help, and he did so by means of tangible means, such as financial aid and emotional support. – Basketball, swimming at sea, and members of the Sea Scout Youth Movement Yona joined the IDF and joined the parachute stream. He then asked to be transferred to the Border Police. After two years in compulsory service, Yona fell on the 12th of Elul 5732 (21.8.1972) in a road accident in the fortress of Kach, where he was killed at the age of twenty-one, and was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa. After Yonah’s death, his father became an activist in the Green Berets Association, an organization that assists the border police. In addition, Yona’s father was chairman of the bereaved parents’ committee of the Border Police.
