Rosenowitz, Hanina
Son of Eliyahu and Sarah. Jewish folk and roots of immigrants from Poland. He was born on 18.1.1950 in Tiberias and his childhood years were Simcha. He studied at the “Beit Hachinuch” school in Safed and at the time was a member of the Scouts movement until the split broke out. He moved to the Nachshonim movement together with the guide and took part in all its cultural activities. In seventh grade in elementary school, the students were divided into two classes – a regular classroom and a pre-professional class. Hanina chose the pre-professional class and did not shy away from the busy schedule, because he loved very hard work. He was somewhat shy and modest. His words were always balanced and moderate, deep in his thoughts and simplistic in his manner. He had a good Lev, friendly and friendly. He found his interest in the world of thought. He did not talk much and would consider everything in depth. Despite the heavy workload, Hanina found time to play basketball, read books and even play violin. He began this at the age of 11 and regularly studied playing in a school until the age of 16. He completed his elementary studies as one of the outstanding students and then moved to a high school in his city – and continued to study there. At the time, he took part in Gadna activities and loved going on trips with his classmates, sometimes going to the wadis and mountains around Safed, and in the 11th grade joined the real trend and excelled in his studies. Hanina was drafted into the IDF in early August 1968 and assigned to the Armored Corps, but did not cause him to patronize his comrades and when he came home for short vacations, he had no “wonders” about his actions and deeds. (2.9.1969), when he was on a tour along the Suez Canal, he boarded a mine and was wounded, and on his way to the hospital he died of his wounds and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Safed.
