Rosenblatt, Jacob (Barty)


Son of Gertrude and Alfred, was born on July 8, 1930 in the city of Wurzburg, Germany. On November 1, 1934, he immigrated to Israel with his parents who settled in Nahariya. He was a well-known member of the Haganah and was involved in the explosion of the railway bridge near a-Zeib. On the 16th of Adar II 5708 (27.3.1948), a caravan of seven vehicles and 90 people left Nahariya to deliver supplies, fortifications and reinforcements to Yiham, and the caravan was ambushed by the Arabs. Jacob was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
