Rosenberg, Zvi (“Zvika”)

Rosenberg, Zvi (“Zvika”)

Son of Elchanan and Rachel. Born on the 14th of Sivan, June ll, 1949 in Kibbutz Nir David. In the middle of the 10th grade, he suffered a “crisis” in his studies. Zvi wanted to go to the Air Force Technical School because his studies there would be of greater benefit to the IDF. In his military service, Zvi continued his studies in the 11th grade. At the outbreak of the Six Day War, Zvi and his friends began to organize themselves to help farms that had no working hands. As the date for the pre-enlistment examinations approached, Zvi began to fear that he would not be accepted into the army because of an accident he had as a child. He underwent medical examinations and received combat fitness. His enlistment date was August 1967, and later on he was sent to a squad commander’s course. For nearly a year Zvi served on all fronts and participated in many incidents – in the Golan Heights, in the Jordan Valley, in the Canal – and finally in El. His last battle, the battle of the cannons, was very intense. He fell on the 3rd of Iyar, April 21, 1969, in the Golan Heights. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Vitkin.
