Ronen, David
Son of Leah and Marco. David was born in Batchan, Romania on April 3, 1939, the youngest son of a family of two brothers. His father was a merchant. David studied road and bridge engineering. In 1964 David immigrated to Israel with his two parents, and worked in various jobs. After a year in Israel his father died. When an announcement was published about opening a police studio for new immigrants, David enlisted in the police. Since then he served faithfully until his death. David knew his wife through a mutual friend who had studied with her in the studio. In 1968, two years after they met, they married. In 1973, Meital was born. David’s mother lived with them for several years, until she died. Commander David fell during his service on September 3, 1988. He was forty-nine when he fell. He was buried in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv.
