Ron, Tuvia


Son of Dina and Yitzhak, was born on October 14, 1951 in Petah Tikva. Tuvia began his studies at the Gordon School in Petah Tikva. In 1964 his family moved to Nahariya, where he continued his studies at the Weizmann School and the Regba High School. Afterward, Tuvia moved to the “Amal” vocational school. Tuvia was a member of the Scouts movement. During his high school years, he was active in the youth movement, and in August 1970 he joined the IDF and served in the Armored Corps. Tuvia underwent a combat-fighter course and a non-combat unit course. In October 1971 he rose to the rank of corporal, and in January 1973 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and two months before the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, Tuvia was discharged from the IDF. When the war broke out, he was called up for reserve duty, fought in the Egyptian sector and was wounded in battles near the Suez Canal. When he recovered from his wounds, Tuvia moved to Eilat and worked in the port with security work. He then moved to the center of the country and worked in various commercial companies. On Tu Bishvat (14 December 1984), Tuvia was in reserve duty in the Negev, where he was riding in a jeep on a patrol road along the Egyptian border, Tuvia was killed at the age of 33. He was buried at the military cemetery in Nahariya, where Tuvia left behind his parents and brother
