Ron (Tnrider), Yosef (“Yossi”)

Ron (Tnrider), Yosef (“Yossi”)

Son of Shraga and Chaya. He was born on March 15, 1934, in Briceva, in Bessarabia. In 1947 the family immigrated to Israel. Joseph completed his studies in an elementary school in Kfar Hess, and later graduated from the army high school. He earned his living as an independent agent for transporting packages (“bundle packages”). As a member of Rafi, he served as the youth center in Petah Tikva (on behalf of Rafi). During his enlistment in the IDF he went out and served as a regular soldier and then continued in the career army, serving in the IDF for eight years in regular and permanent army service. He rose to the rank of captain until he was discharged in 1960. Yosef was loyal to his position and dedicated to his friends. He was a complex personality; on the one hand he was a tough hero, a brave warrior who demanded more of himself than his subordinates demanded. His willingness to sacrifice and volunteerism was a great thing both in the army and in his public activities. But on the other hand he was a man full of love and tenderness, writing poetry, a devoted friend, a loyal father and husband. In the Six-Day War, on the 13th of Sivan 5767 (June 13, 1967), he fell in line with his duties, leaving a wife and two children to rest in the Petah Tikva cemetery.
