Rotem attended the Bechor Levi Elementary School in Rehovot, the Judean High School in Kiryat Anavim and the Katzir High School in Rehovot. In high school he chose extensive studies in geography, knowledge of the country and art. In February 1989, Rotem was recruited to serve in the Israel Defense Forces and was assigned to serve in the Armored Corps, where he completed basic training and was sent to the Armored Corps School for Tank Training. After the training he left with the battalion for activities in Lebanon. At the end of the period, he was sent to a basic officers’ course, completed maintenance officers and was assigned to serve at the Training Base. [6] He served as a guide in a resistance course, was promoted to lieutenant and was appointed deputy commander of the course. , A very good physical fitness officer, an officer who took care of his soldiers … sociable and full of joy. ” Rotem excelled in knowledge of the country, loved to travel, was interested in art and loved music, but loved friends most of all. He was able to make a warm connection with young people his age and with adults, and was careful to say what was in his heart in his special way. Sticking to the principles of loyalty and integrity were milestones in his short life. On December 8, 1992, Rotem fell during his service and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot. Survived by his parents and three sisters – Adi, Maya and Gal. Rotem was promoted to captain after his death.
