Ron, Noam
Noam, Zippora and Zvi Ron’s eldest son, was born in Tel Aviv in 1964. He was the proud father of his three daughters. As a soldier, when he returned tired from the army, he would help clean the house and prepare for Shabbat. Noam enlisted in the IDF in 1982. He moved to the Sayeret Matkal commando unit, but due to a medical problem he was not accepted and transferred to pilot course No. 104, which he completed as a helicopter pilot. He served in Yassur helicopters after a year and fought a lot of battles for the Cobra Squadron, 161 and after his closure he moved to Squadron 160. He participated in hundreds of operational sorties in all areas of conflict. For this he received a medal of appreciation from the President of the State. As a reservist who was involved and active, Noam trained generations of young pilots who saw him as an exemplary example, instilling a spirit of combat and deepening their sense of responsibility for the security of the people and the state. On a training flight, on 1 Nissan, 12.3.2013, a Cobra helicopter crashed in a field of green wheat near Kibbutz Revadim; Colonel Noam Ron fell in combat during reserve duty at the age of forty-nine. He was buried in the civilian cemetery “Morasha” in Ramat Hasharon.
