Ron Edny


Son of Shulamit and Yosef. He was born in Bnei Brak on August 20, 1961. He studied at the Giva’a Elementary School in Bnei Brak, then completed his studies at the “Practical Engineering” High School in Tel Aviv, He was drafted into the IDF in late July 1979 and assigned to the infantry of the Golani Brigade. After basic training he was transferred to the Intelligence Corps and completed a field security course. He then completed an officer’s course and advanced training for intelligence officers and was assigned to the Intelligence Corps as a field security officer. Ron completed one year in the career army and when he was released, his release certificate read: “A highly professional officer, devoted and responsible, with initiative and quick perception.” After his discharge, he studied at the university for a bachelor’s degree in economics and graduated with honors. He worked for a time as a security guard. At the beginning of December 1988, he volunteered again for a career in the Intelligence Corps. Among his roles are: Field Security and Field Commander Instructor and Officers Course Completion. His rank is captain. In his officers’ assessments, which are in his personal file, he wrote: “A devoted, professional officer and investor in his work.” “Fulfills his duties efficiently and with dedication.” In summaries of interviews with him, he wrote: “An officer with extensive experience in field security.” On February 8, 1992, Ron fell in the army cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and left behind his parents and two brothers, Yehoshua and Ehud. Professional, responsible, perfectionist and at the same time sociable, sensitive and a bad man.
