Rodriguez, Yehoshua

Yehoshua, son of Rosa and Yehuda Rodriguez, was born on 26.4.1926 in the city of Adirana (Adrianople), Turkey. He was the youngest son in the family. Yehoshua studied at the elementary school of Alliance, and in a government gymnasium and received a national education in Betar. After an anti-Semitic uprising in his city, Yehoshua came to Eretz Yisrael as part of the Youth Aliya on 23 July 1943. He studied for two years at the Magdiel educational institution. He worked in a photo workshop in Tel Aviv and took evening classes. After the murder at “Gan-Hawaii” on the Yarkon at the outbreak of the War of Independence, Yehoshua joined the Haganah and fought in the ranks of the Givati ​​Brigade. After completing a first aid course, he went to the front as a company paramedic. Yehoshua was killed in Negba on the 24th of Iyar 5708 (June 2, 1948) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Negba.
