Roderick, Eliezer

Eliezer, son of Yehoshua and Benvenida Roderick, was born in 1929 in Turkey and immigrated to Israel in 1942. He was drafted into the IDF and served as a sniper in Battalion 23 in the Carmeli Brigade. After the battalion was disbanded, he moved to Battalion 22 and became a sniper in the battalion intelligence unit. Eliezer fell in the line of duty on 13 Elul, September 6, 1949, and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He was twenty years old when he fell. He left behind his wife Yehudit and a daughter Tamar.
