Rivlin, Yosef (“Yoske”)


Son of Meir and Nechama. He was born on the 19th of Elul 1928 in Jerusalem and was the seventh generation of native-born Jews, and he studied at the “Tachkemoni” school in Jerusalem at the age of 15, His ambition from childhood, and moved to Kibbutz Tel Amal, where he continued his studies until the end of his training period. When he was 18, he returned to Jerusalem for a while, but remained loyal to the idea of ​​collective fulfillment, and at the outbreak of the War of Independence he joined the Haganah, where he belonged from his youth and fought in the many Jerusalem fronts: in Libata, Sheikh Jarrah, In Katamon, in Sheikh Bader, accompanied by caravans to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus, and even lightly wounded. The terror of the shelling of Jerusalem was among its defenders, and devotedly fought and defended the city. He was arrested at Nur-Shemesh and released, and immediately returned to the activity, and when he was transferred to another front, he volunteered to work as a medic in a military hospital in Haifa. At that time, he wrote to his parents, among other things: “How much can I help others in my role as mine? After all, it is possible to bring benefit to others at any moment – in the hands, feet, mouth, and even with a nod. How much relief do you bring to the wounded person with only a slight smile. “During his period of service in the hospital, he contracted jaundice and after three days of illness died on 27 May 1949 and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
