Rinis, Dov (Berla)


Son of Ruchama and David, was born on August 20, 1930 in Ureyev, Bessarabia. His father, a pioneer of the Third Aliyah and veteran of the Israel Electric Company, was the company’s supervisor in Be’er Sheva and the Negev, and Bar’el’s mother returned to Israel with him while he was two months old. He was a member and instructor at the Mahanot Ha’olim and joined the hachshara in Maoz Haim in early 1948. He participated in the battles of Mishmar Ha’emek and Operation Yiftach in the Upper Galilee, and belonged to the First Battalion Of the Palmach, the “Yiftah” Brigade. Fell on the 15th of Iyar 5708 (15.5.1948) in an outpost near Malkia in a blocking operation against an expected invasion of Lebanon, about 17 and a half when he fell, and upon the liberation of the entire Galilee, about six months after he fell, the bones and bones of his comrades were transferred to eternal rest in the Tomb – Brothers in Maoz Haim.
