Rezinsky, Danny
Danny, son of Rina and Nissan, was born on January 31, 1946, in Petah Tikva. He studied at an elementary school in Kfar Ganim and completed his studies at the Kfar Silver agricultural school. Elem Hasson was handsome, attached to his family and admired among his many friends. Danny was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1963 and volunteered for the Infantry Corps. His commanders admired him very much and when his time came to be released, they noted in his release card that his behavior during the service was very good and that he “fulfilled his duty to the satisfaction of his superiors. In mid-May 1966, Danny was released from regular service, and as a reservist he was assigned to an armored unit and underwent retraining. He completed a platoon commander’s course, a training course for armored personnel carriers and a training course for explosive devices. He participated in the Six Day War with his unit and was awarded the “Six Day War”. Danny married his girlfriend Zvia and the two settled in Petah Tikva, not far from their parents. There was no limit to Danny’s joy when his eldest daughter, Yael, was born. He was a good husband and a devoted and loving father and yet he had a wonderful son and brother. During the Yom Kippur War, Danny was recruited and participated in the battles in Sinai. On the 8th of Tishrei 5734 (October 8, 1973), he fought in the fierce battle on the Telisman axis, during which an anti-tank missile was killed, which directly hit his half-track. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by a wife, daughter and son – Danny, who was born six months after his fall, parents and brothers. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Danny proved himself to be an excellent professional, courageous and dedicated. His family immortalized his memory by donating a projection machine in his name to the library in his school.
