Revivo, Yaish (Yair)
Son of Meir and Mazal. He was born on July 14, 1956 in Casablanca, Morocco. His family immigrated to Israel in 1962. The seven-year-old family received an old and dilapidated apartment in Pardes Hannah, and the living conditions were very difficult. Because in that area the father, a shoemaker by trade, could not find a livelihood – the burden of the house was mostly on the mother, who was engaged in sewing. In these distress conditions, Yair began to study in first grade in Pardes Hannah. A year later, the family moved to a more spacious apartment in the area (near Holon). Yair entered the religious school “Maimon” in the place. During his studies at the school, Yair went there mainly because of his many paintings, which decorated the walls of the school. His paintings already testified to his certain talent. But he was aware of it only after a while. The father began to work in the profession and the house came in a bit of relief, which enabled Yair to hold a fancy bar mitzvah celebration in one of the halls of joy in Tel Aviv. The family was observant and tried to continue to share a religious aspect of the boy’s education even after completing his elementary studies. So they sent him to the vocational school ‘Torah and Crafts’. In which he chose auto mechanics as a major trend. A year later, Yair moved to the Nechalim pre-military boarding school in Petah Tikva. There, too, he continued to study in the same profession. During his vacation he went to work to help his parents. Yair’s family was once again in a difficult economic situation. Had he been disabled and the father had asthma, and after 10 years of schooling, Yair was forced to go to work and help support his home. In his spare time, he devoted himself to his hobby – the painting – and especially painted portraits. At that time he was going to take a women’s literature course to replace his profession when the time came. He also took a driving course before he enlisted in the IDF, and while he was active in sports, he played soccer in the youth team of Hapoel Azur as a goalkeeper. At the beginning of August 1974, Yair wore the IDF uniform and was glad to be sent to the Armored Corps. He had completed basic training and a seminary commanding course and had risen to the rank of sergeant, and his devotion and loyalty, his love of work and his devotion to the cause, had been assigned to him by a car officer. Suddenly, while he was doing his job, a disaster occurred in one of the roads in the country, and he and his commander found their death on the 13th of Adar 5737 (May 3, 1977.) Yair was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Holon He left behind his parents, three sisters, and a friend who was about to marry her Mr. “dedicated and intelligent soldier, played his part perfectly, was liked and loved by his superiors and friends alike.” Bereaved family memorialize him, putting a monument in one of the gardens in the area.
