Revivo, Shimon

Ben Ruchama and Abraham. Shimon was born in Oran, Algeria, on September 15, 1941, where he spent his first twenty-one years. In 1962 he moved to France and the rest of his family immigrated to Israel. Shimon worked in France as a factory clerk, met Rachel and they married in 1965. Over the years, the couple had three sons. In 1971 Shimon emigrated to Israel with his family for reasons of Zionism and they established their home in Ashdod. In Israel, his fourth son Shimon was born. On March 1, 1972, Shimon joined the police and filled many positions. His last job was to register. His commanders describe him as an outstanding policeman, orderly and pleasant. His colleagues at the ministry describe him as a “policeman in his soul” and know that every morning, before the sun shone, he was already on his way to the station, enforcing the traffic laws that the drivers had violated and when he arrived he “awakened” the station with his energy and enthusiasm. Shimon was a pain to the station police. They used to knock on his door and receive support and advice on personal and professional matters. Senior sergeant Shimon fell during his service on August 9, 1997. He was laid to rest in the Ashdod military cemetery and was followed by a wife and four sons, and Shimon was told by his friends: “Shimon was a dear man , Whose death created a great void among his family, colleagues and friends. “
