Son of Rachel and Abraham. He was born on December 2, 1966 in Kiryat Shmona in the Upper Galilee. A twin brother to Asher – the firstborn born before him and to whom he was especially attached, and brother to Shalom, Mordechai, Nurit, Vered and Shauli. Itzik’s childhood was spent in the shadow of the Katyusha rockets fired from the Lebanese border. He bought his education in his city, Kiryat Shmona, in the Shapira State Religious elementary school, and at the Amal high school, where he studied in the automotive mechanics and acquired a profession. From his youth, Itzik was pleasant, modest and quiet. As a son and a great brother, he was very close to his family, and was always there for them – supportive, helpful and caring – to his parents, brothers and sisters. On October 2, 1984, Itzik joined the IDF and began a long career with many challenges and accomplishments in the Ordnance Corps, starting with the 17th Battalion of the Golani Brigade, completing basic training at the Yigal Alon Education Center In 1989 he moved to the Nahal Brigade’s 906 Battalion, and after a year he was promoted to the “Flying Lion” Battalion and was assigned to the Commanders’ And infantry, which was in Yeruham at the time. In 1993, after many years of service in the south of the country, he left the Flying Lion Battalion and went north, and began serving in the “Hermon” Brigade, close to his home. He now wore the insignia of a sergeant. Itzik loved the period of his service on Mount Hermon. Throughout his years in the IDF, he has believed in his work and contribution to the joint military effort, and served as a personal example for those around him.Three years he served in the Hermon Brigade and served as a head examiner in various vehicles, including a mechanic and driver, A forklift maintenance engineer, a safety guard and a foreman.In 2003, Itzik was transferred to the 474th division of the Division 36 in the Golan Heights. Itzik tried to make many trips home to spend as many hours with his wife and children as possible.
