Gad (Gadi) was born in September 1946 in Hungary, to Anna and Franz. He is the eldest son of Holocaust survivors. Eleven years ago, Gadi lived in Hungary, in a home where there is no lack. All he wanted was given to him. In 1957 there was a revolt in Hungary and anti-Semitic slogans were heard on the street. Anna and Franz Krash decided to immigrate to Eretz Israel, so that their only son would be able to walk here with his head high – as a proud Israeli Jew. Here, under the circumstances, Gadi was sent to boarding school. It is very difficult for an eleven-year-old boy, a new immigrant from Hungary, to be absorbed. But a year later, when his parents had already settled a little in Jerusalem and wanted him to go back to live with them, Gadi preferred the boarding school. Until graduating from high school, Gadi studied at son of Shemen. He loved studying and even more liked the work in the fields. Since he was very diligent and diligent, he was given jobs that were usually not given to students. son of-Shemen cultivated more love – for music, especially for jazz. He collected dozens of records and studied each one thoroughly. When the time came for him to join the army, Gadi volunteered for the paratroop brigade, but he did not allow him to serve in a combat unit, but during his service, Gadi underwent courses When he was about to leave the regular service, Gadi wondered if he would continue to serve in the regular army, or turn to academic studies, because of his concern for his elderly parents and because of his great desire to study he decided to finish his service in the army Gadi began studying agriculture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem He studied at the University of Haifa, where he studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he studied with his girlfriend Hanna, also a student. Their son, Noam, was born many times in the past, and he was asked to return to the army several times, but Gadi was very hesitant, but again, the parents … and now also a wife and child whom he loved very much. His conscience underwent various courses in reserve duty. Thus he reached the rank of captain and the rank of company commander. In late September 1973, he returned to reserve duty, this time as a company commander in an outpost near the Suez Canal. On October 6, 1973, the war broke out. With stubborn defense, without any chance, Gadi was hit by a bullet. He continued to fight and command when he was wounded, and only forcefully managed to get him into the bunker, so that he would receive medical treatment. As he lay wounded, he continued to give instructions and to encourage. In the evening they took him to the rear. On the way he told how brave his subordinates were. No one heard him complain.
