Reitenbaum, Brent


Son of Frieda and Mordechai. Born in 1892 in Warsaw, Poland, he immigrated to London, where he married a wife and volunteered for the Jewish Legion, the 38th regiment of the King’s Rifles, and was sent to Eretz Israel to participate in the liberation of the Turks. On 16 Tevet (19.12.1918), when the battalion was in Rafah, he died in the course of his duty and was put to rest in the British military cemetery in Deir al-Balah. He left his parents in Poland and a wife in London. His name is memorialized in the “Soldiers’ House” in Avihail.
