Even when he left for the last time, he said, “I’ll be back tomorrow.” He was responsible for the connection with the convoy from Gush Etzion that was trapped in gang ambushes at Nebi Daniel, and throughout that day he maintained contact with her. Yeshayahu-Chaim fell on Shabbat, March 27, 1948, at the entrance to Ramat Rachel. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. After his fall, he was promoted to First Lieutenant (lieutenant).
