He spent the little time he had left between the football match and the bad guys with the neighborhood boys, because he loved the neighborhood and its life. Jacob was the only child in the family, the brother of three sisters, and therefore the family’s “kama” and everyone was spoiled. He never took advantage of this special treatment and gave everyone back his love. He planned to continue his studies at the university after completing his military service, because he wanted his parents to be proud of him and to be satisfied. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in early 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps, where he was trained in a tank training course and was assigned to a unit in Sinai, where he rarely went home for short vacations, – Yaakov was among the forces sent on the first day to stop the enemy’s attacks in the Sinai, and in the battle that took place in the central sector near the Dizzy junction on October 7, 1973, his tank was hit by a missile, and Yaakov was killed and brought to eternal rest.
