Reches, Sagi
Son of Ilana and Michael, was born on April 17, 1963 in Kibbutz Ma’ayan Zvi on the Carmel coast. Sagi did his early childhood with his parents on Kibbutz Kfar Aza. When he was 10 years old, he returned with his family to Ma’ayan Zvi. Sagi became involved with the boys and was active in youth groups and youth. He completed his studies with honors, in the real direction, at the Hof Hacarmel High School. After completing his studies, Sagi volunteered for one year to help Kibbutz Hulit, on the eve of his evacuation from Sinai. In the dungeon, Sagi was the center of the plantation branch and was active in the committees, the editor of the leaflet, and involved in work, society and local life. In October 1981 Sagi was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for a pilot course, completing the course as a navigator with the rank of lieutenant colonel in November 1983. On August 22, 1984, Sagi fell in the line of duty. He was 20 years old. After his death, Sagi was promoted to lieutenant. He was laid to rest in the cemetery at his kibbutz, Ma’ayan Zvi. Sagi left behind his parents, two brothers and two sisters. The commander of his unit wrote about him in a letter of condolence to his family: “During his service in the squadron, we learned to recognize him, and Sagi, who just arrived from the flight school, began to find his way and place in us.
