Son of Yaffe and Shmuel, was born on Yom Ha’atzmaut on May 5, 1960. He began studying at the elementary school near the Rehavia high school and successfully completed his studies there. , “Masada.” Yuval was drafted into the IDF in early November 1978 and was assigned to the Artillery Corps. After basic training he successfully completed various professional courses and was trained, first as a moving artillery gunner and later as a moving artillery commander, and was promoted to a corporal. At one point Yuval taught at the base of the recruits of the Artillery Corps, and as his commander said, his work focused on “turning the boy, the civilian, into a soldier, and instilling values ​​of love for the people and the state.” Four months before they fell, Yuval came to the battalion to serve as a team commander. The transition was not easy and required daily coping with a wide range of problems, but Yuval was able to deal with these problems in his own way. He dealt with the problems by focusing mainly on a mature and sincere approach and an unceasing striving for the goal, all of which – modestly and quietly, because that was his way. On the 10th of Kislev 5741 (10.11.1980), Corporal Yovel fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and Yuval was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
