Raz, Baruch


The son of Haya and Nissan, Baruch was born onthe 19th of Tevet, December 27, 1923 in Jerusalem. For a while Baruch served in a military camp in Rehovot. On the 29th of November 1947, he volunteered for the Palmach in the “Harel” Brigade. He participated in escorting convoys to Jerusalem, during Operation Nachshon, in the conquest of Katamon and in other battles in Jerusalem. Baruch embarked on Operation Maccabi for the breakthrough to Jerusalem, where he fell between Saris and Beit Mahsir on 29 Nissan 5708 (8.5.1948) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
