Ravit, Shloma
Daughter of Aliza and Yosef. Born on 28.4.1968 in Kiryat Haim, the youngest daughter of a family of three, Ravit studied at the Kiryat Haim elementary school and completed her high school studies in secretarial studies, and in late September 1986 Ravit was recruited to compulsory service In the IDF. She completed basic training, was assigned to the General Staff, and was sent to an office clerk’s course, which she completed with a high grade. At the end of the course, Ravit was sent to serve at the Northern Command and according to her command, she was a responsible and professional soldier whose work was impeccable. On May 20, 1987 Ravit felt ill. She had severe headaches and had trouble breathing. She was transferred to Rambam Hospital, but after five days she died on 25 May 1987. Ravit was brought to rest in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery in Kiryat Bialik, leaving behind her parents and two sisters Leah and Anat In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Ravit served in the unit as a casualty officer, whom she filled faithfully for six months until her death. Ravit was a friend and a bad friend of soldiers in the unit, always offered her help, always dominant in the center. “Ravit was promoted to corporal after her death. Her parents commemorated the establishment of the Heichal Kodesh in the Kiryat Bialik synagogue.
