Ravad, Yosef (“Yossi”)


Son of Yaakov-Mordechai and Tzipora. Born on February 25, 1950 in Rehovot, he studied at the “Emunim” elementary school in Givatayim and at “Yeshivat Hadarom” in Rehovot, where he studied radio and electronics and was drafted into the IDF in early November 1967. On 26 Tevet 5736, On the eve of his death, Cpl. Yosef died of illness during his service, and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, and after his death, the military rabbi of Tsrifin Zion wrote in his memory: For his endless dedication, in which he fulfilled all his duties and managed to rise to rank and serve as a religious noncom. Joseph was one of the best and most talented religious symbols we knew so far, loved by his comrades, his subordinates and commanders, still has the same devotion and spirit that Joseph radiated upon us and which was a shining landmark in our activity. In his spare time he did not engage in secular matters, but dedicated his time to Torah study, which he taught his soldiers. “
