Rauch, Eliezer (“Olek”)


Son of Ya’akov and Yidwiga. He was born on September 18, 1932 in the city of Kalisz, Poland. He completed his studies in an elementary school there, and afterwards attended the ORT school in Germany. In 1947-1948, he was a counselor in Haganah training in one camp in southern France, and afterwards he landed on an illegal immigrant ship, where he continued his activities as a guide in the Hagana. Came to the shores of the country in 1948. After he took the exam-examiners and received a matriculation certificate was received at the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. He worked as a craftsman in a factory and was head of the workers committee. He belonged to Hapoel as a soccer player and even after he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in May 1951, he was part of the IAF squad, and was killed in the Sinai Campaign on 25 March 1956. He was buried in the military cemetery And on the 12th day of March 6, 1957, he was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
