Rampel, Shalom (“Shula”)


Son of Yitzhak and Hannah. He was born on March 31, 1930 in Ramat Yitzhak, where he graduated from elementary school, worked in Nahalat Yitzhak as a scaffolder, and was fond of literature and especially music. “Hagana” joined when he was fourteen and took part in many activities during the underground period, without revealing to his parents. When the War of Independence broke out, he was drafted into the IDF and participated in many dangerous operations, he underwent a sabotage course and even guided others, and as a sergeant he was responsible for the saboteurs in his combat company. He completed his duties in dismantling mines in the Negev on the 22nd of Nissan, 21.4.1949, fell and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
