Ramati (Gabli), Daniel (“Danny”)


Son of Moshe and Yehudit. He was born on January 4, 1955, in Raanana, where he studied elementary school at the Yavneh Elementary School in Ra’anana, and during this period Danny was remembered for being the leading spirit in the class, When he was a boy, his father died and Danny was left with his widowed mother, completing his studies at the ORT vocational school in Kfar Sava and finishing with a great profession in the frame industry, Daniel was drafted into the IDF in May 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After passing a course in tank fire, he became a tank gunner. During his service he was promoted to corporal. He was Simcha in his service and proud of his uniform. His commanders praised him and attached him to the battalion commander’s tank crew. He served in the Rafah Brigade and was assigned to reinforce the new line beyond the Suez Canal during the Yom Kippur War. From there, Danny was transferred to the Golan Heights, and after a series of training courses he found himself on the front line in the War of Attrition conducted by the Syrians. Daniel fell in the performance of his duties in the Golan Heights on March 30, 1975. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ra’anana. He left behind a mother, brothers and sisters. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Danny was an outstanding soldier, who took upon himself the tasks he was required to perform in his military service, and always did so with good will and good example. Against the enemies of the state, for you have been privileged to raise a son like Danny. ” His mother commemorated the memory of her son by installing a label in the Moriah Synagogue in Ra’anana.
