Ram (Markman), Bezalel


Son of Yaacov and Rivka. He was born on the 13th of Tammuz, June 24, 1945 in Kibbutz Yagur. He completed his elementary and high school studies at the kibbutz. He belonged to Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed and Hakibbutz Hameuhad. He had a liking to handicrafts (such as carpentry). He was also very fond of sports, especially swimming. He was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in November 1964, and served in the Israel Navy, where he trained in the course of divers. He participated in operational activities across the border, and in July 1968, he was sent abroad for training with a select group of fighters. He fell on the 18th of Kislev, December 8, 1968, and left a wife and a one year old daughter. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in Yagur. The commander of the unit wrote in a letter of condolences to his family: “His calmness and pleasant temperament made him beloved and acceptable to his friends, apprentices and commanders. His courage and talents always stood by him. He was the first in line of the elected representatives to carry out the tasks. always approaching them before being asked. “
