Rachmani, Moshe


Son of Aliza and Jack, was born on 18.8.1937 in Egypt. At the age of five he began to attend an elementary school in Cairo. He studied in Egypt for six years and in 1948 went with his parents from Egypt to France, where he spent two years studying in a Jewish school. In 1950, at the age of 13, he immigrated with his parents to Israel. He continued his high school studies at Givat Hashlosha and was a member of the Working and Studying Youth Movement. In April 1956, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Armored Corps, after which he volunteered to serve in the regular army, the Military Police, and later served in the Border Police and in this unit fought in the Six Day War. Moshe fought in the Yom Kippur War, after which he was appointed commander of the Border Police. In July 1978, he took a senior officers’ course. In March 1978 he was promoted to captain. In May 1981, he completed his service in the Border Police and continued to fulfill his duty as a reserve soldier in reserve duty in May 1983. In May 1983 he was drafted into reserve duty in Lebanon, in the area of ​​the Good Fence, near Metula. Lebanon, suddenly died of a Lev attack. He was 45 when he died. He was laid to rest in the Hadera military cemetery. He left behind a wife, two sons, two daughters and parents
