Rachach (Rokach), Yisrael


Yisrael, born to Mazal and Shaul, was born on November 28, 1954 in Tsrifin. Yisrael was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of September 1972 and assigned to the air force. After basic training, he completed courses for drivers and later on in a course for half-track drivers, first serving as a heavy truck driver. In the Yom Kippur War, Yisrael participated in an effort by our forces to stop the Egyptian attacks in the Sinai Peninsula, and during a battle that took place on the 18th of Tishrei 5734 (October 14, 1973) in the Tasa area, a rocket fired from an enemy aircraft hit his car and Yisrael was killed. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents, brothers and sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
