Rabinowitz, Shlomo


The son of Eidel Rivka and Yehoshua-Eliezer HaCohen was born on 30.3.1930 in the city of Radomsk, Poland, Shlomo immigrated to Israel with his family in 1935. He was a member of the Haganah and participated in the resistance operations against the Mandatory government on Biriya and Haifa, And with his decision to partition the country into two states and the outbreak of the War of Independence, he was drafted into the army He served in the Golani Brigade, first in Ein Gev, then participated in the battles to liberate Tiberias as the person responsible for the operations and was part of a detachment of defenseless defenders, who displayed great strength and suffering and succeeded in causing considerable losses to the enemy by throwing grenades. Shlomo also fought in Tzemah, the Arab Sejera, the Gesher and Degania. He fell in battle for the defense of Sejera on 7 July 1948 and was buried in Kfar Tavor on June 22, 1950. He was transferred to the eternal military cemetery in Haifa.
