R, Eitanon
Eitan ben Moshe and Sarah, was born on the 30 of Sivan, June 9, 1956, in Tel Aviv. Eitan was a gentle guy with a sensitive and kind heart. He felt the pain of the weak and tried to help as much as he could. Eitan also was happy tp be with children and found time to entertain them. Eitan was drafted to the IDF in 1974 and served as a truck driver. Later on, he underwent orthopedic surgery on his foot, following and had to undergo retraining. He began working as a cook at the Armored Corps base and was very successful in his position, although he was not at all satisfied with his ‘too little’ contribution. The unit commander said: “Eitan was a loyal and dedicated soldier,and above all he was a man of spirit with a pure and winning poetic soul”. On Shabbat during the intermediate days of Passover, the 17th of Nissan, April 17th 1976, Eitan fell on guard duty in Sinai. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ashkelon. Eight months later,his father, Moshe, died at the age of 54 and was buried a few steps away from the grave of his son Eitan.
