Pviler, Vladimir
Ben Esfir and Israel. He was born on the 5th of Tammuz 5733 (5.7.1973) in Ukraine, where he grew up and studied in an elementary school and high school in the Ukraine and completed his studies in technical training. He immigrated to Israel, lived in the kibbutz, where he studied and worked until his induction, and at the end of December 1997 he joined the IDF and served in the maintenance corps. After basic training, he underwent various courses in driving heavy and towing vehicles. He was stationed at a transport base in Be’er Sheva and served as a driver. Vladimir, according to his commanders, was a talented and cautious driver, a disciplined soldier who always obeyed the army’s orders, and contributed greatly to the team atmosphere: he volunteered for missions and spent time to help and support the other soldiers in his unit. Vladimir fell in the course of his duties on November 7, 1999 in a traffic accident that occurred on the Be’er Sheva-Dimona road. He was twenty-six when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by parents, brother – Alexander and sister – Diana.
