Prog, Nitzan
Ben Smadar and Aaron. He was born on the 19th of Nissan 5738 (19.4.1978) in Moshav Odem. After a few years, the family moved to Kfar Hitim. Nitzan began his studies at the Degania Aleph High School, continued at the Beit Yerah high school and completed his matriculation exams at the First Community Center in Tiberias, and was an ambitious, perfectionist youth, characterized by integrity and high moral standards “He excelled in sports, especially in long distance running, and even took part in the 18th marathon in Tiberias, for forty-three kilometers. Every thing in which a business performed a bud for the best, and knew how to appreciate true friendship and love. In July 1996, Nitzan was recruited to the IDF, to the paratroopers, and he was very motivated and determined to excel, and indeed he was discovered to be one of the outstanding soldiers in his company. Nitzan chose to volunteer for an elite unit, succeeded in the various categories and fulfilled his wish to contribute in the best possible way. Throughout his career, Nitzan made a remarkable contribution to his teammates and even his commanders. Thanks to his personal ability, Nitzan stood up to the many challenges and tasks and led the team to great achievements. Nitzan fell in the course of his duty on October 8, 1996. He was buried in the cemetery in Kfar Hitim, and left behind his parents and three sisters, Meidan, Moran and Sivan, the mother of Nitzan, Smadar, committed suicide on her son’s grave about a month after his death.
